Healthy Soup for Dinner

A very famous saying of American author and nutritionist Adelle Davis is “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper”. It doesn’t mean that dinner is not so important!

Dinner is said to be the most important meal of the day. Because if you don’t have your dinner, there will be a long gap between the last meal of the day and first meal of another day. Keeping the stomach empty for such a long time could be hazardous. Dinner must contain essential nutrients, because it has to carry you until breakfast. Make a routine of consuming the dinner 3-4 hours before sleep. It will have countless benefits on your health and also help you in a good sleep.

Having right type of meal at right time will improve your stomach health, give you energy, keep your weight under control and also improves your digestion.

In order to have a nutrient rich meal at night add proteins (meat or fish), whole grains (brown rice), vitamins (vegetables), fibers and yogurt in your plate. All these element should be taken in a considerable quantity and should be cooked in a proper way. Try to use least amount of spices and fats or oils in meals at night so that it may not become a burden on your stomach. You can try some of the healthy foods for dinner including stir fry and soups.

Soups

Soups are a good of nutrients all in one bowl, beneficial at night. A chili soup and filling soup can be prepared easily for dinner. Beef, garlic, onions, tomatoes, beans and low-fat cheddar cheese can be combined to prepare a chili that is packed with protein, fiber, calcium and vitamin C. Low-salt chicken broth, potatoes, carrots, onion, celery, corn and shredded chicken is a filling soup that will give you protein, potassium and vitamin A. For a different taste fish or beef can be added.

Stir frys

Chinese usually use the technique of stir frying, which is done on high temperatures. Vegetables are cooked at high flame for short time in small quantity of oil (olive oil). Any protein source (meat) is cooked and added to already fried vegetables with sauces. Stir fry is very good meal at night times because it provides a complete nutritious plate and mouthwatering taste.

Grilled Meat and Vegetables

Meat and vegetables can be grilled which are packed with a variety of nutrients and give you an amazing meal for dinner. Take chicken, beef or a whole trout brushed with olive oil, sprinkle salt and pepper over the preferred protein source. Grill over a medium flame until the meat is cooked. On the other hand grill all of your favorite vegetables, again brushed with olive oil. You can use Squash, asparagus, eggplant, red potatoes, tomatoes and onions. All these can be grilled well and are rich in fiber, potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C.

Besides these, you should have to eat whole grains (brown rice) or brown bread. Always eat such foods at night which may not acidify your stomach and causes gas. Go for a balance diet and live a happy and healthy life.
